Rev Linda & Malcolm

We have been involved in church service for as long as we have been married , that's all of thirty-five years plus years, we have both been active participants in various missions, both home and abroad.

On the 25th April 2013 when Linda was approved by the Baptist Association (East Anglia)

as the minister for Cornerstone Baptist Church, Her ordination and induction on 10th August 2014 was a great day of celebration. And is now Moderator for the Eastern Region

Some say we are both retired, this may be true, but we are still working to minister and pastor our church,  so who’s retired then?, were both working just as hard, the only difference is that we now get paid by the government to do a job we both love.

Rev Linda

Rev Linda spent her childhood in North Shields a fishing town in the North East of England. In 1977 she moved to Bradford, West Yorkshire to undertake her nurse training, whilst there she met and married a local man Malcolm. They moved to Norfolk in 1995 where Linda worked as a Forensic Psychiatric Nurse, continuing her education Linda gained a B.Sc. hons at the UEA in 2005 eventually becoming the Head of Education & Development at what was then the Norfolk & Waveney Mental Health NHS Trust.

After retirement in 2010 Linda studied at Spurgeon’s Bible College in London for two years and was ordained in August 2013 she now works as the minister of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Martham, Norfolk. she has been co-opted onto the Eastern Baptist Association Council and has been elected as moderator for the Association

Malcolm

Resident of Bradford in West Yorkshire for 50 years, met Linda on a blind date while managing a rock band (malcolm has been associated with music all his life and has played in several band throughout his musical career) has been married and divorced twice before getting married to Linda, they have been together now for getting on 40 years (some said it wouldn’t last)

He has a degree in textile design and a diploma in digital systems, has worked in textiles as a designer, been a motor cycle mechanic an office machine technician and worked in a high school as a reprographics technician during his working life, was only out of work once during the 70’s where upon he took the role as house husband, has been a church go’er all his life, and has tried to introduce new music to whatever church he attended.

Although now retired!! he is currently the station manager for Faithful Radio as well as estates manager for the church


Pastor Lynne and Rob Connell

Pastor Lynne  have been involved in Church life for many many years. Pastor Lynne having grown up in the Baptist Church and trained to be both a Preacher and a Pastor. She then was led by God, and moved to be involved in Ecumenical Projects and church plants in Islington and Essex, she has worked with the Church of England and URC churches as well as occasional work with the Roman Catholic Churches.

Together they have run Children’s clubs and holiday clubs in Islington, London and in Essex.

Lynne is our church secretary and also helps Rev LInda with pastoral work.


Rob is a retired Prison Officer and wih Pastor Lynne worked for many years in Local Government.

Rob came to the Lord in 1983 at a Luis Palau mission for Christ in London. He has been a church treasurer, church warden and has worked alongside Pastor Lynne since before they were married. Rob and Pastor Lynne continue Ministerial Training at Spurgeons in November 2016.

Rob has taken on the role of church treasurer.


Together they bring a wealth of experiences in working for the Lord in a varied and diverse society.
